The sanctuary was started 40 years ago by Mrs Kathleen Grellier but
is now managed by Mr and Mrs Stentiford.
The aim of the sanctuary is to find homes for any waifs and strays or
otherwise unwanted dogs, making sure they are properly cared for in
the meantime.
The policy of the sanctuary is never to put a clinically healthy dog down,
which means we sometimes have a few long term "stayers" until the
right owner comes along.
Unfortunately we do have two dogs that we feel will never be homed,
as they have behavioural problems that do not suit the average household.
These are the type of dogs that we have a sponsorship scheme for.
The average cost of a dog per day is approx £7 and that entails the
kennel maids, heating, cleaning, food etc. but doesn't include any vetinary bills!

ABBEY
Abbey is an adorable 17 year old dog. She is very affectionate and loves lots of attention and cuddles. She loves games and her favourite is chasing her ball but she has never quite worked out why she difficult to rehome.
HOLLY
Holly came to the sanctuary after having some very bad experiences with people and consequently it takes her a long time before she gives her trust to anyone. She is friends now with the kennel maids but although she is a young dog it is unlikely that she will ever be re-homed.
